Chlamydia battle 'spoiled by botched screening

Government missed an opportunity to slash chlamydia rates in England by a botched attempt at screening for the sexually transmitted disease, say MPs.

The Public Accounts Committee says there was a lack of urgency in trying to reach the high volume of testing needed to curb the spread of infection.

Chlamydia Thrives Despite Efforts to Treat Teen Girls

Frequent screening and treatment for chlamydia does not reduce prevalence of the sexually transmitted disease in urban teenage girls, according to a new long-term study whose authors suggested that future anti-chlamydia efforts include young men.
