Chlamydia tests for Accrington football fans

Accrington Stanley football club has teamed up with NHS chiefs and a health charity to offer free Chlamydia screening tests to fans after the game.

The club, who were playing Bradford City on Saturday, is helping raise awareness of the sexually transmitted infection to young men in Lancashire.

Health charity b-sure was carrying out the confidential screenings for the fans.

Chlamydia, which is often symptom-less, can lead to infertility if untreated.

Valentines' Day chlamydia warning

YOUNG people in Notts are being urged to protect themselves from chlamydia ahead of Valentine's Day tomorrow.

About one in 10 young people in the county are thought to have the sexually transmitted infection (STI), which can leave women infertile.

NHS Notts County is now leading a new Month Of Love campaign to encourage people aged 16 to 24 to get tested.
